untimely loss on August 15, 1975, alongside his father,
Bangabandhu, shook a nation. Yet, Sheikh Russel's vision for
a prosperous and peaceful Bangladesh endures. Today, we

As we stride into the realm of adulthood, a new set of
challenges greets us on the journey of life. The
responsibilities of work, relationships, and the
ever-present pursuit of balance cast a spotlight on the
importance of adult mental health. Let's delve into the
intricacies of this often-neglected facet and explore ways
to cultivate a resilient and thriving mental well-being. 1.
The Weight of Responsibilities: Adulthood comes with a hefty
dose of responsibilities β career demands, financial
pressures, and the complexities of maintaining
relationships. The juggling act can take a toll on mental
health, leading to stress, anxiety, and, in some cases, more
serious conditions. 2. Navigating Work-Life Balance: The
elusive work-life balance becomes a key player in the mental
health game. Finding harmony between professional
aspirations and personal well-being is a delicate dance.
Burnout looms on the horizon for those who neglect the
importance of downtime and self-care. 3. The Silent
Struggle: Unlike the more visible struggles of adolescence,
adult mental health concerns can be silent, lurking beneath
the surface. The pressure to appear competent and
put-together often results in individuals silently grappling
with stress, depression, or anxiety without seeking help. 4.
The Stigma of Seeking Help: The stigma surrounding mental
health struggles persists into adulthood. Many shy away from
seeking help due to fear of judgment or societal
expectations. It's time to dismantle this stigma,
encouraging open conversations about mental health in
workplaces, families, and communities. 5. Self-Care as a
Priority: Amidst the chaos of adult life, prioritizing
self-care becomes paramount. Whether it's carving out time
for hobbies, practicing mindfulness, or simply disconnecting
from the constant stream of notifications, self-care is not
a luxury but a necessity for maintaining mental well-being.
6. Cultivating Resilience: Life's challenges don't end with
adolescence; they merely transform. Cultivating resilience
in the face of setbacks, disappointments, and unforeseen
circumstances is a crucial aspect of adult mental health.
Resilience empowers individuals to bounce back from
challenges with newfound strength. 7. Building Supportive
Networks: Just as in adolescence, the importance of a
supportive network remains steadfast in adulthood. Friends,
family, and professional networks play a crucial role in
providing emotional support, understanding, and a sense of
connection. 8. Mindful Technology Use: In the age of
constant connectivity, mindful technology use is vital for
adult mental health. Establishing boundaries, practicing
digital detox, and fostering in-person connections
contribute to a healthier relationship with technology. In
conclusion, adult mental health is a multifaceted journey
that requires attention, care, and a proactive approach. By
dismantling stigmas, prioritizing self-care, and fostering
supportive environments, we can navigate the complexities of
adulthood with resilience and a flourishing mental
well-being. It's time to embrace the challenge and advocate
for a culture that places mental health at the forefront of
our adult lives.
In the mosaic of Bangladesh's diverse culture and
traditions, a concerning issue often lurks in the shadows β
bullying. From the bustling streets of Dhaka to the serene
landscapes of rural areas, this pervasive problem affects
individuals across the spectrum. Let's shed light on the
dynamics of bullying in the context of Bangladesh and
explore ways to rise above this challenge. 1. Unveiling the
Reality: While the warmth of Bangladeshi hospitality is
renowned, the darker side of societal expectations and
hierarchies persists. Bullying, in its various forms,
permeates schools, workplaces, and online spaces, demanding
a closer look at the cultural nuances that shape these
interactions. 2. A Spectrum of Bullying: Bullying is not
confined to physical altercations in Bangladesh. It
manifests through verbal abuse, social exclusion, and the
insidious realm of cyberbullying. Recognizing the diverse
spectrum of bullying is crucial for developing comprehensive
strategies to address each facet. 3. Silent Struggles:
Beyond the visible scars, the emotional toll of bullying
silently affects the mental well-being of victims. Anxiety,
depression, and a sense of isolation can linger long after
the bullying incident. Acknowledging these silent struggles
is paramount for fostering empathy and support. 4. Schools
as Battlegrounds: Schools, as the epicenter of social
development, play a pivotal role in combating bullying.
Introducing robust anti-bullying initiatives, creating safe
spaces for dialogue, and promoting a culture of respect are
fundamental steps in cultivating environments where students
can thrive without fear. 5. Cyberbullying Challenges: In a
digitally connected Bangladesh, the rise of cyberbullying
poses unique challenges. Navigating responsible online
behavior, raising awareness about digital etiquette, and
implementing safeguards against online harassment are
essential for safeguarding the well-being of the younger
generation. 6. Empowering Voices: Empowering bystanders to
become active allies is a potent tool in the fight against
bullying. Encouraging individuals to speak up, report
incidents, and support victims creates a collective force
that challenges the culture of silence. 7. Breaking the
Chains of Silence: Breaking the silence requires a concerted
effort. Open dialogues in communities, workplaces, and
educational institutions can dismantle the walls of silence
that protect bullies. By fostering an environment where
speaking up is encouraged, we weaken the grip of bullying.
In conclusion, the fight against bullying in Bangladesh
demands a united front, blending cultural sensitivity with
proactive measures. By understanding the diverse
manifestations of bullying, fostering empathy, and
implementing comprehensive strategies, we can aspire to a
Bangladesh where every individual thrives in an atmosphere
of respect and understanding. It's time to rise above the
shadows and build a culture that stands strong against the
currents of bullying.

In the contemporary era, the troubling specter of suicide
looms large, casting a shadow of concern across the globe.
It is a pervasive crisis, affecting individuals from diverse
backgrounds, with a slightly heightened prevalence among our
youth. A staggering 703,000 souls are lost annually to this
harrowing act, accounting for 1.3% of all deaths in 2019.
Disturbingly, men are disproportionately affected, with a
global suicide rate twice that of women. Alas, more than a
fifth of teenagers grapple with the dark notion of suicide
at least once in their young lives, leaving a trail of
shattered families and fractured selves. The origins of
adolescent despair are manifold, often rooted in neglect,
abuse, delinquency, domestic strife, or even more sinister
forms of maltreatment, as revealed by a study from King's
College London in December 2018. Yet, for people of all
backgrounds, the relentless pressures of depression and
unmet expectations drive many to the brink. In this solemn
backdrop, parents and guardians must assume a role of
compassionate companions, allocating time and fostering open
dialogues with their young charges who may be grappling with
emotional turmoil. It is our collective obligation to
champion mental health, striving to thwart the specter of
suicide that threatens our pursuit of a harmonious existence
with our loved ones. Let us all remember our foremost
mantra: to embrace life's abundance with those we hold dear,
steering clear of the tragic abyss of suicide.
